That’s right I’m re-reading Miller and Mazzucchelli’s BATMAN: YEAR ONE which is the modern-classic Batman origin story. It is one of the books that Batman Begins was based on. There’s even a section straight from book to film, as, ahem, illustated below:

Of course in the back of the book we also get some of David Mazzucchelli’s line art before the inks and colour get near it:

Definitely a book that doesn’t push to hard, or tax the reader. Still a fun an enjoyabe ride after all these years. Maybe I’ll have to track down a copy of the DARK KNIGHT RETURNS
